Well the Shows are over for 2010, so this week we produced a newsletter & class list. We're quite excited about the classes we have to offer and now we're both flat out making samples, class notes etc. During the week I also managed to finalise all the details for our No Rules, No Rulers Quilters Retreat in Clermont. Already we have quite a few booked in.
On the sewing front, I've managed to finish all the blocks & borders for my Pinwheel Party Quilt -
after last night, I now have it pinned ready to start quilting over the weekend. I have a new niece - Eva Simone born a week ago who is destined to recieve this quilt. It's very soft & pretty and I'm hoping to be more adventurous in my quilting and add feathers and swirls this time.
I enjoyed doing the Pinwheel Party Quilt although I do confess that while I started doing a block a week for about the first 5 weeks, I got slack and then skipped a couple of weeks, made a few more and then had a mad dash last weekend to make the remaining 4 blocks & borders!
Even so, I really enjoyed the process. One block a week gave me time to take particular care with the points and I tried to get them all to fit the way they should. It's a bonus that the quilt was made from my stash!
I've now found another quilt-a-long that I think I'll do. Again, with fabrics from the stash, it should be fun! The quilt is here: http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2010/06/qal-5-week-one.html You need 4 1/2yards of background fabric and about 10 fat quarters or 20 fat eights, so it's going to use a fair amount of fabric. If anyone else decides to join in, please let me know - it would be fun to keep tags on each other to see how we're going.
I also managed to get my Effervesence quilt pinned (made a few months back) so you know what my plans are for the weekend.
Peggy's been busy making lots of dresdens. Bright, colourful and full of charm I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with them!
I know that today she is out piecing a totally different quilt that she's planning to use on the back of the quilt, so as always with anything Peggy does, I know it will be special!
Enough for now - I can squeeze a bit of sewing time!
Have a great weekend - Bev
