Yes, really! I've been fortunate enough to be able to purchase a Quilting frame for myself. Peter Taylor's Sewing Centre in Emerald has had a great sale on machines lately which included Quilting Frames. So tomorrow I take delivery of my own tomorrow Imperial Frame and Janome 1600P machine. Pretty exciting, hey! I'll have no excuses now not to actually finish my quilts and hopefully no more sore neck & shoulders - well not from quilting anyway.
I will admit to 4 quilts at home unquilted (as well as a couple at the shop) and many, many more under construction at home. I'm excited!!!
If you'd like more information about the machine or frame be sure to go and see Peter or Liz. Now I just have to save so I can get the new Janome Horizon sewing machine (it has an 11" work space) - they loaned one to us to try out during our Clermont Retreat and both Peggy & I were impressed.
ON the shop front, our thanks to everyone who visited us during our sale last week. We were really happy with the result and even managed to sell a couple of our sample quilts from previous classes and shop samples. We still have a few left so if you're looking to purchase a unique handcrafted quilt, come in and see us.
Some exciting patterns arrived yesterday - from Anna Maria Horner, Amy Butler and others - I know I should have taken more time and you'd have a better photo, but this will do. While I love the Honey Bun Poufs and the Oval Patchy Pillow from Amy Butler, I think I'm going to have to make one of the Flower Patch Pillows from Anna Maria Horner first (or it could just be a block of the Gathering Flowers Quilt - It looks really interesting on the pattern cover), and the Little Wallet from Valori Wells would make a great little Stocking filler or even a secret santa gift! Included with this bunch is the "Proper Attire Skirt" pattern from Anna Maria and although I'm not a regular skirt wearer the pattern looks great, so maybe my daughter Melanie might get one made when she comes home at Christmas time (if she's lucky).
Two books also arrived - both from Heather Mulder Peterson (Anka's Treasures). Livin' Large has been here before and sold out really quickly (because it's a great little book filled with inspiring quilts and a gorgeous tablerunner that's on my very long to do list), and Stop, Drop and Roll- A Collection of jelly roll and fat quarter friendly projects - I love the "Gettin Ziggy With It" quilt on the back cover.
Enough for now - I have to go home to clear some space for the new addition.
Cheers,
Bev
