Sorry for the lack of posts lately, we've both been busy and or away (lucky for some). We've had lots of new fabrics arrive over the past couple of weeks, but a few ranges in particular have left me thinking...
First up, Mr Fixit there's a great panel as well as several co-ordinating prints. Peggy's already been busy cutting it up to make kits.
Then there's Word Play (my favourite - although I do admit to saying this about a lot of fabrics, this one does it for me). It's from Michelle DÁmore. We've had several of her ranges in the past and I've always liked the colours, the feel of the fabric and the contempory designs. Come in and have a look for yourself - I'm sure that you'll agree.
In the meantime, I've got a few ideas floating around for a small quilt...
Lastly, Breeze arrived here last week and again I like both the feel of the fabric as well as the design. There's quite a few gorgeous soft co-ordinating prints in the range.
Just a couple more photo's to share - Peggy's been working on these lately -
Sorry, I realised after I'd downloaded it that it wasnt a very good photo, so I left it small. It's all part of her Teacher Accreditation with Qld Quilters. On the subject of Qld Quilters, both Peggy & I have a quick trip to Brisbane planned for next week so we can go see their annual Exhibition. Peggy has entered a couple of quilts, so it will be interesting to see how they go (not that I'd be biased in any way). It's on in conjuction with the Craft Expo at the Exhibition Building from next Thursday to Sunday and I'm sure it will be wonderful.
I've been playing with these blocks over the past few days - hope to have more to share with you shortly, in the meantime, it's actually quite fun and they look terrific on the design wall.
To finish off this post, one of the ladies from Peggy's beginners group has almost completed her quilt top, only a couple more borders to go. It looks wonderful so with her permission I thought I'd share. Thanks Dianne, you've created a marvellous quilt for your first one, we love the fabrics you've chosen they really do work well together and your stitching is beautiful, we do look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
It's now pouring rain outside, so I'm off home for the evening. I'm looking forward to hiding away in the sewing room for an hour or so while this is going on.
Have a great weekend, Bev
