Peggy & I have been missing in action lately - Our sincere thanks to wonderful Evol for looking after the shop for us and let us get away. We started off a couple of Fridays ago to head to Barcaldine for the weekend, and what a wonderful weekend we had sharing with 14 other like minded ladies intent on getting some progress made on various projects. Would you believe that by midnight on Friday, Margot had already completed her first table runner - with another two by lunch time on Saturday and she then went on to make two bags before the weekend was over!
Maryann - a new member of the patchwork family completed three of the four borders for her tablecloth and decided that she just had to go to sleep (at midnight, dedication?) on Friday as well. Doesn't it make you think of warm sunny, relaxing days full of fun? If only she'd taken the backing & wadding she would have finished it over the weekend, but what the heck it's fun to start a new project..
I'm not good with names, so I'm going to let the following pictures tell the story - Thank You Ladies, I really admire your work, your enthusiasm, sense of humour, determination, willingness to share and of course your wonderful cooking skills. It was a most enjoyable weekend, Thank You for letting us take part!
On our return Peggy had to dash off to Brisbane for the next part of her teacher Accreditation with Queensland Quilters. She tells me she's now on to the third stage with lots of homework, but she did get to meet some lovely ladies at the meeting in Brisbane.
Without having time to settle in, we then packed the cars and headed to Toowoomba for Quilting on the Downs, organised by Lisa from Precious Time. We both attended classes from Sue Ross - Circles of Fun and Chris Jurd - for me it was Reproduction Beauties and Peggy, Mariners Madness. Wonderful classes in great company with inspiring tutors - does it get any better?
Mine is the blue circle on the left -
Reproduction Beauties will look something like this when done (I may have to take a bit of time off work to do it - Any volunteers to look after the shop?)
Speaking of shops, I must go get ready, Evol tells me there's several boxes of new fabrics to unpack when I get there. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a great day.
Have fun, Bev
Glad you made it home in one piece Bev and I'm sorry you had to leave early.
It was a fun couple of days and I'm glad you and Peggy enjoyed it.
Can't wait to see those NYB's finished!
