Have you missed us? We’ve been busy! We’ve each had a few days away from the shop, we’ve sewed, we’ve gardened, we’ve even received lots of new fabrics in the shop since we last posted.
What about you? Hope you’ve also found time over the past month to do whatever you enjoy the most.
So where do I start to catch you up? A few weekends ago the Blackwater Patchwork Group celebrated their 25th Anniversary by holding a Quilt Show. A few of us traveled to Blackwater to attend. Congratulations Nola, Anna and all the members of your group, you had a wonderful display of quilts. Here are a few photos:
Starting at the front door - this is the quilt (on the left) the members made for their raffle. It was lovely, made from fabrics from the Meadowsweet range by Sandy Henderson and although I bought several tickets, unfortunately I didn't win. I loved the quilt shown above!
The next quilt, I know was made by Anna Beasley and the pattern's called French Roses. It's beautiful!
Well done Ladies on the show and for the anniversary - we and I'm sure all who attended had a lovely day!
Back in Emerald, Peggy & I have both been sewing new samples for the shop. Peggy's having a Softies workshop shortly, and has had a great time making up some. What do you think? The three little black dolls are from the pattern La Bebe Cloth Doll from Giggle Spot Designs. The next picture are the Baby Chibi Dolls from One Red Robin and of course Hilda the very stylish & Hip Hippo from Melly & Me. We have patterns available in the shop. Final photo for today are the Zipper Mouth Monsters & if you look closely, Ernst from Ernst & Pepple has also just managed to creep into the photo. These delightful designs are from Jodie of Ric Rac fame. We love them all! OK I hope this is enough to satisfy you that we haven't disappeared, I'll try to post again tomorrow with some of the new patterns and fabrics in store.
PS don't forget that the Emerald Patchwork & Quilting Group are holding their "Spring Has Sprung" Exhibition and High Tea this Saturday in the grounds behind the Library in Borilla Street. From some of the quilts that we have already seen, I know it will be a great display so be sure to get there.
Regards, Bev
