What a weekend – we had Pauline Rogers from Quilters World in Emerald doing a couple of workshops – Double Wedding Ring and Blossoming Hearts, and what a great time we had. Pauline’s a fabulous instructor with loads of experience, buckets of patience and a wonderful sense of humour! Although none of us finished what we started we’ve all come away extremely happy with our accomplishments and eager to keep going.
You’ll have to wait until I can get Peggy’s camera to share all the photos, but this is what I worked on:
I do like the way it’s working out and are actually planning to use it on my own bed when it’s complete. Those piles around it include 64 centres, 144 melons, 288 strip pieced arcs and 162 each of the two corner fabrics (I had a bit of a marathon cutting out session on Saturday night), cut from 6.4m of the cream background fabric, 7.8m in total for the 6 fabrics in the arcs plus another 2m for the corner squares. This is not a project for the feint hearted, and you can see I have lots more to do. My fellow workshoppers & I are hoping to meet up again in January to keep each other on track.
