On this rather cool and bleak day for Central Queensland, it can best be described as warm and sunny in the shop because we've just received some more Kaffe fabrics. What better way can you think of to brighten your day? (Incidentally, I very much like the Anna Maria Horner fabric shown here in the background).
Peggy's already been busy with them, cutting several 25cm pieces from each as well as a couple of 2 1/2"strips that she has beautifully rolled - they look almost too good to open and I will admit to serious thoughts about using at least one of the rolls at home to decorate my sideboard. (Mind you I think that three would look even better!)
For anyone planning to attend our upcoming No Rules, No Rulers Retreat in Clermont we think these fabrics will work really well. We also have quite a supply of Peggy's gorgous dyed fabrics that we're planning to take with us (I forgot to take a photo) for the weekend. There's still a few places left if you think you'd like to join us in Clermont for the weekend. We are collectively a wonderful group of sewers intent on having fun, creating, sewing with no boundaries and of course the bonus of no meals to cook, no housework to complete. I can't wait!!
Peggy tells me she's just about to finish sewing the binding onto one of the sample quilts she's made to take to the Retreat and knowing Peggy, I know the quilting will really be a feature so I'm really looking forward to seeing the completed quilts. Here they are before quilting - don't be distracted by the pins..
I'm off to do some work - don't forget that we're having a giveaway to celebrate our 100th post. If you'd like to go into the draw, be sure to leave a comment on our 100th post. We'll draw the winners on Saturday morning.
Cheers,
Bev

The quilts for the retreat look fantastic. I am very disappointed that I am not able to make it. Hopefully next year. Enjoy the weekend girls. Make sure to bring your winter pj's as it is very very cold.
